Betting scandal rocks Fresno State hoops

Fresno State might soon be embroiled in a sports gambling scandal, with both the school and the NCAA conducting an investigation involving three players, ESPN reported on Saturday.One player was removed from Fresno State’s team and two others were suspended before Saturday’s game, a 72-69 overtime loss at Air Force.Per the report, Fresno State opened its own investigation following a tip, then contacted the NCAA.Sophomore guard Zaon Collins and senior guard Jalen Weaver — two of Fresno State’s top three scorers — were “being withheld from competition as the University reviews an eligibility matter,” the school said in a statement.Former Bulldogs player Mykell Robinson, who hadn’t played since Jan. 11 and is no longer on the roster, is also under investigation.
