No. 24 Michigan edges Oregon for third straight win

Will Tschetter came off the bench to score 17 points as No. 24 Michigan knocked off Oregon 80-76 in a Big Ten contest in Ann Arbor, Mich., on Wednesday.Danny Wolf had 15 points and 12 rebounds, Vladislav Goldin scored 15 points, Nimari Burnett had 13 and Tre Donaldson 12 points for Michigan (17-5, 9-2 Big Ten), which has won three straight games.Jackson Shelstad scored 18 points, Nate Bittle had 16 points, seven rebounds and three blocks, Keeshawn Barthelemy scored 15 points and TJ Bamba had 13 points and 10 rebounds for Oregon (16-7, 5-7), which has lost four straight and five of six.Oregon trailed 74-68 with 3:39 left in the game but scored four straight to cut Michigan’s lead to two with 2:45 remaining.The Wolverines went up 76-72 with 1:58 remaining on a basket by Goldin, but Oregon again sliced Michigan’s lead to two with 48 seconds to go after two free throws by Bamba.Following Burnett’s offensive rebound on Michigan’s next possession, Wolf was fouled and hit two free throws with 24.8 seconds left to give the Wolverines a 78-74 lead.Barthelemy hit two free throws with 15.6 seconds remaining for Oregon to make it a 78-76 game, but Roddy Gayle Jr. hit two free throws with 8.3 seconds left to extend the lead back to four and all but seal the game.
